TSMC’s 2nm chips are coming to a device near you in 2026

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has officially announced its 2nm process node. It is expected to ship to customers in 2025. The company has also revealed more details about its 3nm technology, which is set to begin production later this year.

TSMC kept his Technology Symposium in North America (opens in new tab) on June 16. It talked about its advanced technologies, including updates on the various processes and packaging technology. It also outlined its future expansion plans. The highlight for PC enthusiasts was undoubtedly the unveiling of its 2nm node – referred to as N2 – which involves a shift from the established FinFET technology to a nanosheet transistor architecture. We can expect this technology in our computers for years to come.
