The custom design of Intel’s first Arc A380 graphics card is: finally for sale in China and is currently listed at a price of 3999 RMB or over $500 US. The price includes VAT, but is well above the suggested retail price of 1030 RMB announced for the Chinese market.

GUNNIR has become a very popular graphics card manufacturer in the OEM and pre-built PC segment in the Asian Pacific. They were one of the first to offer custom flavors of the DG1 graphics card in custom flavor and they are now back with the first custom DG2 graphics card, the GUNNIR Arc A380 Photon with 6 GB GDDR6 memory and the full ACM-G11 GPU from Intel. The Intel Arc A380 graphics card will be an entry-level model with the full ACM-G11 GPU using the Alchemist Xe-HPG architecture. It houses the full GPU configuration, using 8 Xe-Cores or 1024 ALUs. The graphics card also features 6GB of GDDR6 memory with a TBP rating of around 92W. The maximum frequency for the card is 2450MHz, showing that Intel is taking full advantage of TSMC’s 6nm process node. GUNNIR’s custom model has a VRAM clock speed of 15.5 Gbps for a bandwidth of 186 GB/s. The memory speeds were also quietly updated by Intel due to the reference design.
Interestingly, the card uses the ‘K4ZAF325BM-HC16’ memory chips operating at 16 Gbps, but Intel seems to have lowered the memory specs, probably to save power, which makes no sense for a desktop variant. The modified variant already has a higher TBP of 92W and has an 8-pin connector, so running the memory at 16 Gbps speeds should be no problem. But probably even board partners have traded memory clocks for GPU clocks.

It is unknown if the card uses a custom PCB or reference design, but it comes with a single 8-pin power connector to boot and includes a 2+1 phase VRM design. The shroud features the ‘Intel Arc’ logo on the side and features a GUNNIR Photon logo that lights up with LED lighting, giving even the boarding pass a premium look.

As for the graphics card itself, the GUNNIR Arc A380 Photon comes in a standard box package with the Intel Arc 3, XeSS and DirectX 12 Ultimate marketing logos. The graphics card itself is a two-slot, two-fan design with an aluminum heat sink underneath. The shroud and backplate have a nice two-tone black + gray color theme, and the backplate extends beyond the PCB. There is a single 6mm nickel-plated copper heatpipe that runs through the heat sink.
There is also a blue and black colored border on the back plate which enhances the look of the card. Display outputs include three DisplayPort and a single HDMI output. The fans are two 90mm designs and the card measures 222×114×42mm.
The reference Intel Arc A380 graphics card has also been officially announced for the Chinese market. The card has a two-slot, one-fan design. Compared to the GUNNIR variant with an overclocked design, the reference model has a clock speed of 2000 MHz plus a TBP of 75 W, meaning no external power connector is required. The graphics card will come in several pre-builts this summer from leading manufacturers like ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, ACER, etc. Plus will also be available in homemade flavors like the GUNNIR model above.
While the GUNNIR Arc A380 Photon 6GB graphics card has been made official, we expect the card to remain a GPU offering for the Asian market, with other manufacturers pushing the Arc A380 and the rest of the market. more expensive line-up on the market in other regions later in the summer. The graphics card was intended to launch close to the 1030 RMB MSRP, but it doesn’t come close. In fact, the map is already listed as ‘Sold Out’ on JD.com† Intel praised the card for offering 25% better value for money (in Yuan) over the AMD Radeon RX 6400 at the MSRP, but given that it’s over 3x the MSRP, the whole point of this graphics card is invalid.
